1965 Scout 80 152cid Upgrade to a 196cid

Post by greenbean »

I am going to upgrade my 1965 Scout 80 152cid to a 196cid so that I will have the extra 20hp to add power steering, 727 auto (so the wife can drive it) and maybe air-conditioning (you know to keep the wife happy. I have been "told" that the 196 units in the 800's remained slanted to the 15 degree number, but when the 196 went into the Scout II they were installed "level". Does anyone know if this is true?

As we talked on the 19th I think that is correct. But will see if someone else also can confirm that.

You mean you’re gonna swap the engine? I took upgrade as changing the CID of your 152, I don’t know if it’s the bore or stroke that changes.
