Having trouble starting truck

Hello.
I usually don't post anything but my truck is giving me problems starting.
It makes a metallic sound and then when I try to start again in neutral or park nothing
happens.
I was told it is the neutral switch on the transmission.
Thanks.

On the top of the steering column there is a sliding switch. You turn the key and a rod is moved making connections for the electrical current can go to the starter, and coil. Might be out of adjustment or breaking. 2nd check wire connections through firewall. 3rd clean battery terminals and check cables. Here is a trick I do on all my rigs. I daisy chain the ground cables. Ground wire to body, to block, to frame. Everything is now grounded. All cables are connected. like one continuous cable. Good luck.
