I just bought a 72 Scout 2 and will need new electrical, and that will just be a start to what additional needs I will have. Truck is currently in Exeter, CA which is about 45 minutes southeast of Fresno. Does anyone have any recommends on the nearest(and recommended)shop that would be able to do some good work? I live in the San Francisco Bay area so if there are recommendations in my area(know of a place in Grass Valley but hoping something would be closer), then I guess I could trailer it up here for the work. Thanks to anyone with some insights..

There is an event coming up called the Sierra fall rallye.. I am sure if you get some contacts from that event there will be people there who can help guide you in the right direction....

I have a 72 Scott II as well. It's a long story but it needed a lot of work. I found a guy in Fresno. He did not restore it. He made it basically a new car on a Scouts body.
New small block engine, new disc breaks, rebuilt the transfer case, powder coated the frame. He did a great job. It took a long time. Not quite finished. We drive it on ranch in the Sierra's. I wanted it to be reliable.
His name is Richard Ruiz PPC Customs in Clovis. 559 281-8484
Good guy, but expensive. But who isn't.
Good luck

Look up Bob Jimenez at Black Dawg Scouts. He's out there in the CV.
