I haven't had a Scout since 2011. I used to always say my dream car, THE dream car, was a 1970 Challenger soft too retrofitted with a 392.
The other day I realized I was wrong.
You see, this past year: I got out of the active duty Army. I got a job in the Air Force Guard. I bought a house, a new Avalanche, 12 chickens, 2 ducks, 2 horses and a 4 wheeler.
But I still miss Maggie. She was a 1971 Scout OK.
345. 4 speed. Lunchbox locker in the rear. D44 and discs up front. DandC rollcage. 1990 Chevy TBFI. SO A w/ 35s.
She was a beast.
My dream? It's a Scout. It's actually always been a Scout, since I first saw an ad on Craigslist in Iraq.
Here's to the saving, the looking, the dreaming.
