Back together and running good. Valve train noise at first, not just a short time either. After a couple days of slight use and running at home, the noise just stopped. When it first started there was antifreeze smelling steam coming out of the tailpipe on the side the work was done on, I thought Maybe I somehow damaged the head gasket. Or maybe the coolant that spilled when I tipped the intake manifold up to get it out of the way was in there and would go away, this problem disappeared at the same time as the valve train noise. Unusual, but seems good now.

The mounting bolts that go into the top of the transfer case came loose and backed off, I drilled them .081" to put a safety wire through.

I got both bolts in and tightened. It wasn't easy getting the wire in there, can only get my hand in flat. Can't open it to grab something. I got three wraps around the other wire on each end, that should hold.

Yeah, vibration doesn't have any power to move the wire.

Finally got around to replacing the drivers side siderack, I had it apart and the wood drilled before I realized the metal pieces I already made were for the back. Oops. I have five boards on the sides, only four on the back. So I can see out the back with the mirror better. So I went ahead and made a back half rack. Then got more metal and made enough for the rest. I just painted enough to do the drivers side for now. When the others come back from powder coat, I'll swap them. Eventually they'll all be replaced with powder coated metal. The rattle can paint keeps wearing off and rusting.

Went on the Kingsburg 4WD Club Snow Poker Run yesterday, we got snow just in time. The snow on the bumper is from driving in the deep stuff.
