Hey everyone, I am putting power brakes on my '73 scout II (FINALLY). I got a rebuilt booster and a new MC from Oreilly's. I have had a bracket around for quite some time (I bought the entire set up off a guy in the OC and the new booster is an identical match). I knocked out the covers in the firewall for the upper bracket bolts and got everything mocked up... It looks like the bracket is too shallow or the push rod on the back of the booster is too long, it looks like there might be some interference issues with the firewall. I have read that there is a pre '74 bracket and a '74 and later bracket.
~~Can someone measure their bracket depth from the firewall to the booster side for me?
~~Can someone send me a pic or two of what their set up looks like?
Thanks for your time,
Chip

Re: Brake booster bracket
OK turns out I have a short bracket (3 1/4") and I need(ed) a 4". Some 1" x 3/4" aluminum bar and some 1/4" flat back I have extended the bracket and the pedal push bar and the world is at peace.... at least in my garage!
