IHWR UPDATES

Post by Aubluvs4x4 »

March 4th, 2018
It’s that time of year again folks!
7 weekends from now is International Harvester Western Regionals held at the KOA Campground in Barstow, CA. April 20th-22nd, 2018
Loads of fun on the agenda this year starting with the Friday Morning Pancake Breakfast put on by San Diego Scouts West Chapter, followed by the Historical Run: checking out the museums and monuments in the area. Get familiar with the KOA Campground which offers a variety of things to do such as the swimming pool, a recreation game room, archery, kid’s playground area and jump pad and much more. Get settled at camp, check out the local attractions, check out the vendors, do what ya wanna do just remember to be back in time for the Friday Night Potluck dinner! Bring your favorite dish to share! It will be held in the Club Room.
Registration will be open all day Friday, so everyone can get situated and signed up for trail runs. Make sure to get your raffle tickets too!
Saturday morning everyone departs for their desired run. There will be simple, moderate and extreme runs offered this year. Tons of fun! Pack a lunch and get ready for some wheeling!
Saturday evening when everyone returns, park your rig for the Show and Shine. May the best rigs win! Then of course everyone’s favorite: Dinner and Raffle! Dinner is provided by our caterer who is also a wildland firefighter. They know how to grub! After dinner, the Show and Shine Awards will be announced and then it’s the game of chance to win those PRIZES!!! Proceeds going to the Vet Hunter’s Motor Cycle Club this year will benefit veterans in need of help and services, giving back to those who have served for us.
Sunday morning, breakfast will be offered by our caterer,$5 burritos, first come first serve, so keep some dough in your pocket for that! This will be your last chance to get any merch from our vendors too! Upon departure, please leave your campsites clean, and have a safe trip back home!
Hope to see you all there!!! 😊

Thanks y’all! Couldn’t do it without you!!! 😉

FRIDAY NIGHT POTLUCK DINNER
Keeping up with tradition, we will have our Friday Night Potluck Dinner held in the KOA’s Club Room, next to the pool. Please bring a nice big dish to share. This year we will NOT have Mr. Meaty’s beer braised chicken, so we encourage you to bring a meat dish if you’d like. We still love all the sides and fixin’s too! And of course, don’t forget about desert!!!
This year we’d like to start a new tradition for our Potluck—BYOP—BRING YOUR OWN PLATE. 😊 This will really lessen the trash and food waste that we tend to see every year. So let’s all try to give it a shot!
Can’t wait to taste all that delicious food everyone brings!

TRAIL RUNS
Please be aware that during the Saturday morning Driver Safety Meeting, we will be going over the specifics of the trails and what your rigs require to perform best on the run.
Prior to that, please note the CAL 4 WHEEL SAFETY REGULATIONS listed below.
Also, here is a link that explains the Safety Guidelines for IHWR:
https://www.ihwr.org/ihwr-safety/
Your trail leaders will be doing safety inspections before departure and will be looking that you have met the requirements.
Please be aware and make any necessary upgrades or adjustments now, prior to the event.
Thank you!
